Biography

Pam always wanted to go to Art School but not till many years later was she able to fulfil that dream. She obtained a Degree reading Art History from the Open University and finally a Fine Art (Hons) at Sunderland University in the late 1990’s, where she became inspired by the work of John Piper. Since then she has shown her work extensively across the North East. In 2000 she had her first solo exhibition at Tallantyre’s Gallery, Morpeth. In 2005 she was appointed Artist in Residence at Hexham Abbey and in 2013, with six others, she celebrated the return of the Lindisfarne Gospels with a summer-long exhibition at the Forge Gallery and Studio, Allendale.

A few years ago she set up the Victorian Mangle Printing Company on inheriting an old renovated washing mangle from another artist and uses it to create original cards and prints.

In recent years, Pam has been invited as a guest speaker on various cruise ships lecturing on Art History. Recently, as a Friend of the Laing and volunteer, she has contributed to the Picture of the Month lecture Saturday programme which is open to the public.
